CONSERVATION
At KLEED we are passionate about nature conservation, and it is a key part of our journey towards full sustainability - with the help of some amazingly dedicated partners: Greenspark and Saving the Survivors.
SAVING THE SURVIVORS
At KLEED, we are passionate believers in wildlife conservation. Carolina Guedes Cruz, founder of KLEED, spent a lot of her time in Africa, joining some wildlife conservation projects over the last 20 years. KLEED supports “Saving the Survivors”, an African non-profit organization that cares for rhinos, elephants, lions and other African wildlife that have fallen victim to poaching or traumatic incidents. Rhinos matter because they have been around for millions of years and play a crucial role in our ecosystem. They're important grazers and consume large amounts of vegetation, which helps shape the African landscape. This also benefits other animals and keeps a healthy balance within the ecosystem. KLEED donates 5% of its profits to “Saving the Survivors” and highlights these animals’ plight by embroidering them on many KLEED garments. Visit Saving the Survivors and support in any way you can. Every little helps to keep our wildlife friends safe and protected.
GREENSPARK
The fashion industry is responsible for using millions of trees a year, to create viscose and rayon. This impacts the forests, native animals, plants and local communities. Trees naturally harness carbon dioxide, by storing the carbon and releasing oxygen into the air. To help restore our planet’s biodiversity, KLEED partners with Greenspark and plants 10 trees for every KLEED order received.
Planting trees helps bring back our forests, but also employs local communities, who plant the trees themselves. An effective way to alleviate poverty through environmental stewardship. Keep up with our tree planting progress here.
Plastic waste is one of the worth’s largest environmental disasters, especially affecting the ocean. KLEED’s partnership with Greenspark rescues 5 plastic bottles for every KLEED order received. This rescue mission protects sea life, but also employs local communities, who rescue and recycle the bottles. An effective way to educate and reduce pollution of our oceans. Track our plastic rescue mission here.
Every business produces C02 Emissions, but KLEED is doing it part in reducing them and, with Greenspark’s support, in offsetting them. Follow our C02
Emissions offsetting here.
