GREENSPARK
Each year, more than 200 million trees are cut down, processed with intensive chemicals and dissolved into wood pulp, which then gets turned into fashion textiles. Many people aren’t aware that viscose and rayon are made from trees, let alone trees from ancient forests. These can be 120 years old, if not centuries older. Ancient forests are being destroyed for the sake of fashion, at the expense of endangered animals, native plants, indigenous communities, and our climate. Nearly 75% of the earth’s surface has been altered and impacted by human activity, of which deforestation for the fashion industry has played a huge part.
This is an environmental disaster, because ancient forests are crucial for maintaining the biological diversity of Planet Earth, and to safeguard the home of native plants and animals. As a clothing brand, KLEED is fully aware of the devastating effects the fashion industry has on natural resources and animals. So we decided to do our part in restoring the biodiversity of our Planet by partnering with Greenspark to plant 10 trees, recuing 5 plastic bottles and offset 5kg of CO2 with every KLEED order.
By partnering with Greenspark we are helping to restore our natural forests, and marine life. With each KLEED order, we are planting trees and recuing plastic
bottles from the ocean. This not only helps to bring back our forests, it also helps to employ local communities, providing an empowering means to alleviate poverty through environmental stewardship. We are also giving our clientele one more reason to feel good when buying their KLEED garments.
